Flying Squirrels

Flying squirrels are destructive little creatures that can pose a serious danger to your home. If you notice a flying squirrel problem in your home, you need to take care of it immediately. A delayed response time could give them time to nest and you could have an infestation on your hands, resulting in further damage to your home.

Flying Squirrel Problems

  • Chewed up wiring
  • Leave urine and droppings
  • Carry diseases and parasites such as rabies, salmonella, fleas, and ticks
  • Make scratching noises
  • Cause allergy issues
  • Keep you up all night

Flying Squirrels in the Home

Many homeowners learn that they have a flying squirrel problem when they hear irritating scratching noises late at night. This is because flying squirrels are nocturnal creatures.

Once in the home, flying squirrels will typically make their way into the attic, but they can also be found nesting in chimneys, between the floors and the walls. In rare instances, they can take a wrong turn and make their way into the basement from the walls into unfinished areas. Insulation provides them with good nesting material and it will be hard to force them out. Insulation provides them with good nesting material and it will be hard to force them out.

Flying squirrels can have 3-5 babies at a time. They will leave urine stains and droppings that will smell up your house. Because they typically stick close to ventilation channels, their urine and feces can spread diseases more quickly throughout the home. If one dies, you will have an even greater odor problem on top of attracting insects and parasites to the carcass.

Our Removal Process

  1. Give us a call and we’ll send one of our highly trained technicians to perform an inspection.
  2. Once the entry point has been located, we will set up one-way exit tunnels around the area. These tunnels will allow the squirrels to leave but bar them from re-entry.
  3. To keep them out, we will also animal proof any holes to prevent them from getting back inside the house. If the animal gains reentry within 1 year due to fault of our own, we will come back a fix it for free.

Attic World LLC does not use poisons as part of its removal process. Doing so can cause health hazards to your pets and family, and aren’t as effective as our exit tunnels. As much of a nuisance as these critters can be, we feel that killing them is not the answer.
